QUEREPARE CAMP

Since 1993, Natura Raid administrated 02 forest camps, Querepare on the Paria Peninsula and Ubanoco in the Orinoco delta.
These camps are under the managing of two locals families the Morin in Querepare and the family Marín in Ubanoco.

Location : Península De Paria

           
          
How to get there :
By air or road to Carúpano. Then by road following the way to San Juan De Las Galdonas.

Facilities :

Basic confort in a local traditional structure with indigenous-style wood walls and palm roofs, 32 individual beds distributed into 8 double rooms and 8 indigenous style twin lodges, private WC and showers, hammocks, a dining hall, 120v alternating current and radio communication

Characteristics :
At the north of the Paria Península, it receives all the breeze from the atlantic. The camp is located on a virgin beach, 2 kilometer long, surrounded by a thick vegetation. You can go on different excursions, for example to Santa Isabel village, a walk to the La Noria well, San Francisco inlet, Don Pedro, Boca Del Dragón, Macuro, boat trip to the archipielago Los Testigos.


Recommendations :
Sport suit, several pairs of socks, longsleeved shirt, jeans, bathing suit, shorts, caps, sport shoes, towels and repellent.


UBANOCO CAMP

Location : Boca de Uracoa, north of the Delta.


How to get there : By road via Temblador, Monagas state, to Boca De Uracoa. From there take a boat toward the Zagaray island where the camp is. In Boca de Uracoa you can park your car and to request a boat, ask for Mr. Arquimedes.
        
          


Facilities : This camp is a traditional indigenous structure built with palm wood, which has a dorm area with 32 individual beds with mosquito netting distributed into 8 double rooms and 8 indigenous style twin lodges, private WC and showers; kitchen and terrace dining room overhanging the river. This camp has a generating unit (100v current), room lighting with candles and oil lamps, pluvial water collector, solar panel and radio communication. Additionally, this camp has 12 sea kayaks.

Characteristics : Trips in curiara toward the main attractions in the northwestern Delta, such as Güinamorena, Pedernales, Guaranoco, Simuina, Boca De Cocuina, also trips in kayacs. In the way toward the camp you can enjoy the flora and fauna of the zone, monkeys, macaws, herons, pirahna fishing, indigenous communities.

Recommendations : It is indispensable to take a good mosquito repelent. If you are a light lover you must bring your lantern or flashlights as there is no electricity. Bring a sport suit, several pairs of socks, longsleeved shirt, jeans, bathing suit, shorts, caps, sport shoes, towels and repellent, raincoat.
